A group under the agies of Ugbajo Itsekiri USA Inc. a non profitable organisation based in the United States in collaboration with Africa Cataract and Eye Foundation has again, In furtherance of its charitable works to humanity, affected many lives positively through an ongoing seven days free cataract treatment and surgeries retreat in Delta.
The group flagged-off the free cataract treatment and surgeries which cuts across ethnic barriers on Sunday December 12, 2021 and continued till Saturday December 18, 2021 at the Olu Palace field, Ekurede Itsekiri in Warri South L.G.A of Delta State.
The eye care retreat which was in phases, started with accreditation of patients and lasted for four days, from Sunday December 12 through Wednesday December 15, 2021 while the surgical operation for patients with critical eye defects lasted for three days, from Thursday December 16, through Saturday December 18, 2021, at Agbowu Clinic, Ogbe-drive, Warri.
Addressing over 500 participants on the first day of the free medical eye care services, the President of Ugbajo Itsekiri USA Inc., Mr. Jemine Okotie-Yesin stressed that, “we are committed to taking care of our people back home and that this eye care service is another means of reaching out to our people as well as neighbours whithin our environment.
“I am overwhelmed with the turn out of people with eye challenges, even as i assured you that all expenses for their treatment and surgeries have been taken care of by the renowned organisation, it is the mission of Ugbajo Itsekiri U.S.A that no Itsekiri son or daughter should be needlessly blind”.
Speaking in the same vein, the founder of Africa Cataract and Eye Foundation, Dr. Okorodudun thanked the President of Ugbajo Itsekiri USA, Mr. Jemine Okotie-Yesin and the entire members of the group for always remembering the people back home, saying that their collaboration with group has been a blessing to Warri kingdom since inception in 2018.
