Reps Health Committee Chair Commissions Emergency Pediatric Unit At FMC Bida

*Emphasizes commitment to healthcare improvement

Chairman of the Committee on Health Institutions, Rt. Hon. Amos Gwamna Magaji has  conducted oversight visit to the Federal Medical Center Bida  in Niger State, evaluating operations and addressing healthcare challenges.

As part of his visit to FMC Bida, Hon. Magaji also participated in the commissioning of the Emergency Pediatric Unit. 

Rt.  Magaji serves as the member representing the Zango Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in Nigeria.

 In addition to his legislative responsibilities, he holds the significant position of Chairman of the Committee on Health Institutions. 

This role places him at the forefront of overseeing and ensuring the proper functioning, funding, and development of health institutions across Nigeria.

During an oversight visit to the Federal Medical Center (FMC) in Bida, Niger State, Hon. Magaji performed a critical function of monitoring and evaluating the center’s operations and services. 

Oversight visits are essential as they help to ensure that health facilities adhere to national standards and provide quality healthcare services to the public. 

These visits also provide an opportunity to identify any challenges the institution may face, ranging from infrastructure deficiencies to resource allocation issues, and to propose solutions to these problems.

This new unit is a significant addition to the medical center, aimed at enhancing the hospital’s capacity to provide urgent and specialized care to children.

 The establishment of the Emergency Pediatric Unit underscores the commitment to improving healthcare delivery for vulnerable populations, particularly children, and addressing the specific healthcare needs of the pediatric population in the region.

Hon. Magaji’s involvement in these activities highlights his active role in promoting and supporting healthcare improvements in Nigeria, reflecting his dedication to his duties as both a representative of his constituency and a national health advocate.
