Rural Access: Gov Yusuf Flags-off 70km Road Networks In 10 Communities

*Sets aside over N11bn for road infrastructure in rural areas in partnership with IsDB, LLF

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has flagged-off a total of 70 kilometre roads across ten communities in the three senatorial districts in the state.

The flag-off ceremony took place at Rijiyar Gwangwan and Mil Goma in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of Kano State.

A statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa and made available to journalists in Kano, explained that the two locations out of the ten are set to enjoy the various road networks have been allocated with 14.7km out of the total of 70km.

The road projects are going to be excuted in partnership with Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and Lives & Livelihood Fund (LLF) through the Kano State Agro-pastoral Development Project (KSADP) under Kano State Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (KNARDA).

While flagging-off the project, Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf said his administration is determined to executive life changing infrastructural development projects for rural communities in Kano state.

The statement added that a total of over eleven billion Naira is earmarked for the seventy kilometre rural access roads and road networks in semi-urban areas.

“In Dawakin Kudu where today’s flag-off took place, 7.2km rural access road for Mil Goma to Yankatsari and 7.5km Rijiyar Gwangwan road networks respectively are expected to cost two billion, six hundred million naira (N2.6b) only.” the statement explained.
