*Says Gov Bello acted rightly
*Charges Gov Elect to carry every one along

The Chairman of United Progressive People Party (UPPP), Mallam Bala Abdulghafar Dirisu has congratulated Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State for making swift and what he called profound appointments in the state.
It would be recalled that earlier in the week, Governor Bello announced the appointments of the following persons, Hon. Habibat Oyiza Tijani as Accountant General, Kogi State, Hon.Yakubu Isiyaka Adabanenge, Auditor General For Local Government and three others.
Similarly, twenty one chairmen were appointed as caretakers for the 21 local government areas of the state .
In a statement signed by Mallam Bala Abdulghafar Dirisu on January 10, 2024, the UPPP Chairman while commending the governor, also congratulated Hon.Habibat Oyiza Tijani, Yakubu Isiyaka Adabanenge for their appointments.
According to him, “In view of the track records of the two illustrious sons of Kogi, the appointments by Governor Bello is simply a round peg in a round hole.
“It is with this, that the UPPP wishes to congratulate Hajia Habitat and Hon Adabanenge while urging them to give it their best shots in the course of discharging their duties.
“The UPPP also is ready to partner with the appointees as they assume office in order to move the state forward,” the statement said.
In the same vein, Mallam Bala Dirisu congratulated the twenty local government caretaker chairmen, acknowledging that their appointments are truly well deserved.
“On behalf of the UPPP, I wish to extend my congratulations to the twenty one caretaker chairmen, your appointments are well deserved and we of the UPPP urge you to do your best for the state so that we can have a better Kogi for all,” the statement said.
The UPPP Chairman also encouraged the Kogi State Governor-Elect, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to brace up for the challenges ahead of him as he assumes office few weeks from now.
Dirisu as chairman of the United Progressive Political Parties for Ododo, who played a crucial role in ensuring that the All Progressives Congress Gubernatorial candidate emerged victorious during the Kogi polls in November 2023, appealed to Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to carry along members of the UPPP as contained in their pact.
” I will like to charge Governor-elect, Musa Ododo not to forget the UPPP as we all get ready for a new face in the Lugard House. We had promised to stand by him, that promise, we kept.
” We are going to hold him by his own promise of carrying UPPP along . We are also congratulating him in advance as he assumes office few weeks from now.”
