Uvwie LG Introduces New Signposts

Uvwie Local Govetnment Council in Delta State on Friday introduced new signposts in the Council Area.
The Council began the process with the installment of the new signpost for Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM. Emmanuel Sideso JP Abe I and others in Effurun.
In a remark, the Uvwie Council Chairman,Hon. Tega Ramson Onoyake  thanked the Uvwie Street Naming Committee for a job well done.
He said,”I want to  thank the Special  Committee. I really appreciate you for the bottom of my heart.
Hon. Onoyake said,”I brought this design from the United States of America USA. I also noticed similar thing in Lagos State.
“I find out that when you get to a certain rowdy place in Lagos, you don’t need to be searching for the names of the streets. From distance, you will notice the name of street.
“So, I decided as a Local Government Chairman, that in my time, I will to introduce something different to my Local Government and today by the special grace of God, here we are  witnessing my vision in the Council Area.
“Hence, we decided to start with His Royal Majesty and our brother who is representing us in the Delta State House of Assembly will unveil the first street sign post.”
The Uvwie Street Naming Committee Chairman, Chief (Dr.) Samuel Jimoh Eshenake JP explained that the new signposts was introduced in the Council Area in line with global best practices.
He said with the introduction of the new signposts, it is a sign that Uvwie Local Government Council is keying into the Urban Development Area Project of the Delta State Governor, Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa.
According to Chief Eshenake,”Uvwie Local Government is taking the lead in this newly improved signboard for street naming.
“I want to tell you that the Street Naming Committee of Uvwie is in charge of naming new streets, it’s in charge of revalidating new, existing streets and also in charge of numbering houses and closure of roads.
Chief Eshenake urged property owners and residents to revalidate their street by applying for the new Signposts.
Chief Eshenake explained that no street existed before today until the people obtained the new signposts.
Chief Eshenake who said the people should apply directly to the Committee and the Council Chairman directly warned that no one should duplicate the new signposts.
” There are Security number attached to it. Only members of the street naming Committee that knows the numbers,  know where it is in the newly sign post. If you duplicate the signposts and you are curt, your fine is five hundred thousand naira(N500,000).
The areas where the new signposts were introduced, installed and commissioned are; HRM. Emmanuel.E. Sideso Street off Jakpa road, Hon. Ramson.T. Onoyake Close in DDPA Bendel Estate, Lady Okomadu Street off Ovie Palace road and Francis Umurhoh Crescent off Uti road off PTI Road in Effurun.
