Motivated by the need to discover new talents, the Kaduna State Cycling Association has on Wednesday disclosed that plans are being finalised to introduce monthly competitions for cyclist to promote the game.

Head Coach of the association,  Samaila Usman  dropped the hint during an interview with AUTHENTIC Daily Sports in Kaduna.

Usman said the competition will be tagged: Kaduna State Cycling Championship and will feature cyclists across the 23 LGAs in the state.

He said introducing the monthly competition would help strengthen the game and will also attract more youths to the sport.

“We want to promote the game of cycling among youths in the state and North-West region.

“We want to extend it to the North West as it is being practised in Rivers and Lagos states.
“We want to expose talents and revive cycling back so that we can participate in different competitions.

“Many people have the notion that cycling is a difficult game that they cannot do. So we want to clear that notion by introducing monthly competition in the state so as to promote the game.

He said the association have not held or participated in any competition since KADA Games 2009 in Kaduna.
